Thorney run festival 2018
September 21st, 22nd, 23rd.
The Thorney run fest is a running festival in every sense of the word, its a pan flat off road trail run, we have purposely designed it to be inclusive to all, with open spaces, woodland and circumventing two spectacular fishing lakes with distances including, 5km, 10km, Half and 6 Hour Enduro (INDIVIDUAL OR TEAM), you can even pick a start time.
Whether you’re setting yourself a fitness target, looking to achieve a new PB, raising money for your good cause or just coming to join the hundreds of other runners who are running for their own goals, you know you can also run just for fun.
With on site camping, including electric hook up (Fee payable), free parking, showers and a relaxation Marquee, we will even have a very small bar for Friday and Saturday evening, with DJ entertainment, food and drink is also available to purchase.
The 5km is a flat, really relaxed affair, its about fun, and pushing yourself, not everyone can smash out 5 minute miles, thats fine, pick a time come and run and just enjoy. The run has start times of 1000, 1200 and 1400, it's just one lap of the course.
The 10km route will be two loops of the course, pan flat, with varied terrain (visually only), wood, open space, water, there is no rush, never done 10 km, come have a go, do a lap have a rest and a drink sit in the sun, relax and finish your course, or come and try your 10 km in one go.
The 10 km run has start times of 1100, 1300, 1500.
The 21km (Half Marathon) is considered a good distance to properly test yourself with, normally you would be pushed to finish within a certain time, not here and not with us, you start, you finish, its quite simple, we want everyone who starts the Half to finish, if you have your sights set on the next step (Marathon), come and see where your fitness level is, and train accordingly, our in House training team will be happy to assist you with any future plans or just to give you some advise.
The 21 km run has start times of 0930, 1130.
The individual is quite simply as many laps of the 5 km course in the stipulated time, run or rest your time is ticking, go for the win or enjoy the feeling of not being rushed to finish, its not often you can run and be fed and watered every 5 km.
The enduro starts at 9.15.
The team event will be 3 people doing as many laps ( 5 km ) in the given time as you can, you can choose to do one lap or more at any one time, and the only stipulation is that each team member must run at least two laps, as with the other events, a feed and water station will be available every 5 km.
