Description

A new running event for 2018 the Beaminster 5 km & 10 km will start and finish at St Mary's school,(JUST THE START AND FINISH) registration and all the other facilities will be at the pavilion in the center of Beaminster.

The route will be open to traffic, however there are plenty of wide pavements and quite roads to run on, with plenty of marshals around the course, the run is a safe, scenic but tough route starting and finishing in Beaminster Town.

The event is more for fun, its still 5 km and 10km but with some walking from parking to registration (600m) and then from registration to the start (500m), it was the only way to make the course 5 km and 10 km, you can use it to warm up and cool down.

Please note there is no official parking for the event, there is plenty of on street parking and parking is also available on the industrial estate near the start

10 km Route

The 10 km route will start at St marys school, on clay lane Beaminster, before heading for stoke road, Once passed The New inn (Great for spectators), we head for Norway lane and the Jnk with B3162.
With some spectaular views over the rolling Dorset countryside, this section of the run will be fast, its flat and open and stunning to run in.
The down hill section once we turn towards Stoke Abbott is equally fast, and as we pass The New inn the end is close, after a few hills (Little ones)

5km Route

The 5 km run will also start and finish at St Mary's, but is a straight run out to The new inn before looping back to Beaminster, with some equally stunning Dorset countryside to view as you run, there are just a few pesky little hills, on the route back.

We are trying to create local good fun but inclusive running events so if you are new to running or you want to run with children as always 14's and under run for free.
This route will test you, its up and down, with flat bits for respite, sometimes hills just get in the way you cant run flat all the time.

Prizes for first place Male, Female and child, but everyone gets a superb medal.
