We return in 2019 with the BB Marathon and associated running distance events, building on the amazing time had in 2018 and now in its 4th year, our events are super relaxed and chilled affairs so we pride ourselves on no cuts offs and encouraging all abilities of runners to come and choose a distance.
The routes are on nice quite country roads, with aid stations on route and our as always welcoming environment, we want everyone to finish the marathon who starts and if you can manage 7 hours and under then #PUSHYOURLIMITS and enter now.
5 km ( Course record 2018 Ross Wayne (Purbeck runners) 00:22:48 and Grace Morrison 00:29:49 )
New to running, wanting to build up to bigger distances, the 5 km is for you, its a gentle nice easy going route, an out and back 2.5 km, with just one slope (Its not a hill) on the 5km route,
Children 14 and under run for free as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
Never entered an event before this route could be for you, just come and run or walk its the 5 km thats important.
10 km ( Course record 2018 Freddie Checketts 00:40:17 and Emma Sinclair 00:49:36 )
There are no major hills on the 10 km route (They are small slopes), many people achieved PB's in 2016/17 and now 2018 so could you if you put the effort in, its a straight out and back 5 km with no junctions on the route, so no slowing of pace, there will be a feed at the turn point to help you fly home.
Half Marathon ( Course record 2018 Adam Davies 01:21:23 and Jo Lawes Female 01:45:45 )
Been running a while, happy with your 5 and 10 km times, time to step it up to a half marathon, an undulating route, which we are told is tough but achievable and once again lots of PB's in 2018 with plenty of support on route you'll be onto the marathon in no time.
Marathon ( Course record 2018 Steve Babb 03:06:17 and Sara Watts 03:47:34 )
The Marathon an elusive target for most runners, but its achievable if you train for it, you will have plenty of support on route so there is no better time than now to try, its two laps of the half marathon course, so you can take as long as you need after the first lap, have a breather a coffee and then go for it.
The route its self is undulating, but just as much down as there is up, and with the course record at 3 hours a 6 mins (Its clearly a quick and enjoyable route).
We dont really do cut off's we would rather you just come and try, however if you haven't done the first half marathon in 3.5 hours we could ask you to stop, that would still give you a 7 hour time limit, something you wouldn't get at a lot of Marathon events.
With a few places for family and friends to cheer you on (All at pubs) we have tried to make the route as inclusive as we could within the distances, if you new to running or you want to run with children as always 14's and under run for free.
Prizes for first place Male, Female for all distances, but everyone gets a superb medal, even the free running places.
